"The future is now."
That is how Fabbin Adventures starts his latest video. He asks a simple question: Do you want to watch TV, or do you want to build cool things?
He has been welding for years using traditional machines like MIG and TIG. When he first got the Xlaserlab X1 Pro, he was honest. He wondered: Is this just a toy? Is it a gimmick? Or is it a real tool for your garage?
To find out, he pushed the machine to its limits. He cleaned rust, cut steel, and even tried to weld two soda cans together.
Time: 00:00 - 00:22
Part 1: Safety First
Lasers look clean and futuristic. But Fabbin Adventures learned a painful lesson right away: You must respect the power.
Even though the X1 Pro is small compared to factory machines, it is very powerful. In the video, he shows a small burn on his finger. He was trying to tack weld a corner, and the laser beam shot right through a crack, burned through his leather glove, and cooked his finger.
For this reason, ordinary welding masks are absolutely prohibited. The X1 Pro comes equipped with dedicated high-tech goggles specifically designed for the laser's wavelength (OD8), ensuring personal safety.
Part 2: Cleaning Mode
Do you hate sanding rust? It is the most boring part of any project.
Fabbin Adventures tested the Cleaning Mode first. He took some rusty garden stakes and a piece of painted iron. He just pointed the laser, and the rust vanished.
But the most impressive test was on an old file. A file needs to be rough to work, but this one was clogged with oil and dirt. It was useless. After a few seconds under the laser, smoke rose up as the oil burned away. When he touched it, the file felt sharp again. It had its "bite" back.

Part 3: Cutting Speed (Fast vs. Slow)
Next, he switched to Cutting Mode. This is where he found the machine's true strengths—and its limits.
Thin Metal (22 Gauge): He was shocked. The laser cut through the thin steel "like butter." It was incredibly fast and left a clean edge with almost no heat marks.
Thick Metal (1/4 Inch): Our testing showed that the laser can penetrate stainless steel up to this thickness. Although the cutting speed is more measured for heavy plates, it provides a functional solution for users needing occasional deep-material capacity.

Part 4: Welding Aluminum (The Secret Trick)
Welding aluminum is usually hard. It requires the metal to be perfectly clean. But Fabbin Adventures found that the X1 Pro is not picky. It welded dirty aluminum easily.
He also shared a Pro Tip that isn't even in the manual: He wanted his weld to look like a professional TIG weld (the "stack of dimes" look).
He kept the Laser on "Continuous" mode.
He set the Wire Feeder to "Pulse" mode.
This trick allowed the laser to keep the metal hot, while the wire dipped in and out. The result? A beautiful, strong weld.

Part 5: The "Soda Can" Challenge
This is the ultimate test. Soda cans are paper-thin. Usually, if you try to weld them, you just burn a hole.
Attempt 1: Fabbin Adventures tried it with standard settings. Zap! He burned a hole immediately.
Attempt 2: He thought about the problem. The laser beam was swinging too wide. He changed the "Swing Width" to 1 mm and lowered the power. Success! He welded the two cans together perfectly. He was amazed because even some professional welders struggle with this.
He said: "I successfully welded the pop can together... This machine will do super thin material relatively easy."

Conclusion
At the end of the review, Fabbin Adventures gave his honest verdict.
He says laser welding is "not a gimmick." It is a real industrial process that is finally available for home garages. It is fast, super tunable, and makes difficult jobs (like thin body panels) easy.
If you are ready to forget your old welding habits and try something new, the X1 Pro is ready for work.
